ReplyDeleteI agree, this article is very frustrating. My dishwasher has silverwear rack inside bottom rack. When I open the door and get a mirror I can see lots of pink and black mold in each little open cube at the door bottom. I have dug out this disgusting mess with q-tips soaked in vinagar. I cannot find any mention of any filter in my manuel. But judging from the build up of mold on the door bottom my filter also needs cleaning. I will never buy another Whirlpool dishwasher and rest assured that when covid is past and I can shop for a dishwasher I will check all dishwasher to see if the door bottom is a smooth finish to prevent build up of mold. I will need to take a mirror with me as you cannot easily view the bottom of the dishwasher door. That is unless you can climb into the washer while standing on you head.
DeleteVery frustrating. This explanation is not read-able! My Whirlpool Quiet Partner 1 does not look anything like the ones explaining where to find filters on the traditional Whirlpools! My manual is not helpful in the least. If I decide to break down and just buy a new dishwasher, I doubt it will be a Whirlpool because of all of this frustration.
ReplyDeleteI have had the same issues. After watching YouTube videos I learned how to remove and clean the filter and clean around the small blades.
ReplyDeleteMy dishwasher had the black inside and I cleaned it and the filter. My filter was clogged totally and water was not draining nor cleaning. If you watch a video you can clean it within 30 minutes. It should be done a couple of times a year or more. The dishwasher is meant to use a drying agent and dishes need to be rinsed before loading. It now works like new. When I buy a new dishwasher I will buy one that has a filter which is easier to clean.
